For the first all together in more than 80 years, the United States Federal Bureau of Research has expanded the definition of rape.
The old definition applied only to women and required some create of resistance and vaginal penetration for it to be considered rape. This completely alienated men and those who are incapable of putting up a battle as possible victims, entirely distorting what could have been an accurate account of the bounds of this horrible crime.
In the new definition, men are included. Oral sex, anal sex and assault with an objective are added as possible offenses, and resistance is no longer required—be of consent is enough to make the action criminal.
This is important to cases when the shlemiel is drugged, unconscious or mentally and physically incapable of giving comply.
The Obama administration claims the reason behind the change is to further understand a lawlessness that is so rampant. Rape has long since been considered the most under-reported crime based on its very personality. Victims often think they did something to cause it, are embarrassed to report it or are not even sure if what happened to them can be considered a lawlessness—especially since the majority of cases involve a pre-existing relationship with the attacker.
