Nine-year-old Allison Hoff’s Kid’s Corner op-ed on bullying in disciples was great!
Ideally, students, and people in general in wider company, should stand up to bullying, and other forms of intimidation and assault when they see them. That’s good counsel.
But it got me thinking about a similar, yet larger issue.
Forgive me, but it seems that it’s always males that are expected to detach up fights, and “get involved,” at least when any physicality is required.
I’m sometimes enchanted aback when women seem to expect men to be unpaid bodyguards and private cops for them, and for intercourse at large. Men are just expected to be vigilante police at all time, or to be what is otherwise known as “gentlemanly.”
(Not that Be absent from Hoff argued this in her article, I’m extrapolating to a broader point.)
