REPORTING FROM JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA -- Lesbian, gay and transgender people mug entrenched discrimination, violence and hatred in South Africa, specially women who do not behave the way this society expects them to, according to a report by Understanding Rights Watch.

"They may be thrown out of home; ridiculed and ill-treated at school; harassed, insulted, and beaten on the streets, in church, and at labour; and threatened by neighbors and strangers," says the report, "We'll Show You You're A The missis," released Monday. "The abuse they face may be word-of-mouth, physical, or sexual, and may even result in murder."

The report cites the the reality of a woman it identifies as Boipelo, born in Pietermatizburg, eastern South Africa. Boipelo (not her unaffected name) was brought up by her grandmother and harassed by her male cousin, who lived with the one's nearest and accused her of acting like a boy, particularly when she refused to carry out chores for him.

Islam and Gays: See Africa.

Here’s a rather incredible article for what it says and what it tries to sidestep.  The well-spring is MSNBC.  Duh.  (That’s their name, btw – MSNBC-Duh. Decent saying.)  I’m cruising the tidings this morning – nothing jumping out after a dozen sites.  So I go to MSNBC-Duh, and this article entitled “Even after cessation, upbraiding against gays continues” catches my eye.  You gotta grant – there’s a lot of CSI-SVU recounting lines in that entitle.

Here’s the first substantive paragraph:   Madieye Diallo’s confederation had only been in the sod for a few hours when the mob descended on the weedy cemetery with shovels.
