A registered sex transgressor who is suspected of trying to lure gay men he meets around The Alameda has been arrested on flavour of rape by San Jose police, who are asking other potential victims to come precocious.
Police on Wednesday publicized the case of 44-year-old Chad William Swanson, of San Jose, who they said has been hanging around the Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center and Crema Coffee on the approved shopping strip.
Swanson persuaded a 19-year-old gay outcast man to come live with him near downtown, in the 400 block of Willis Avenue, the heat said. In exchange, the homeless man agreed to help Swanson with his vending topic at local flea markets. But then on Oct. 22, Swanson reportedly sodomized the man after he level asleep, police said. Detectives arrested him Nov. 11. Swanson has a premature conviction for lewd or lascivious acts with a child younger than 14. Investigators say Swanson has been befriending youthful, gay men, and ask anyone who has been victimized, or who know anything about the case, to call the sexual assault unit at 408-537-1395.
