When the FBI released annual nationwide offence statistics from the Uniform Crime Report program over the past 80 years, the demarcation of rape stayed the same, including only women forced to have sex with men.

For more than a decade, victims-rights and gay-rights advocates pressured the ministry to change the definition to more accurately reflect sexual violence in this territory.

“With that antiquated data there was a huge number of victims not counted,” said Lynn Blanco , CEO of the Rape Danger Center of San Antonio , one of the groups that fought for the change.

On Friday, Attorney Mixed Eric Holder announced a new definition to be used by the UCR that better reflects state evil codes, recognizing more victims and more forms of sexual penetration considered rape.

Removing gender stereotypes and archaic jargon will increase the accuracy of sexual violence statistics, experts said.

“(The new outlining) does talk about the fact that rape happens to men, women and children, and I recollect that's very important,” Blanco said.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A $1.4 million jury award to an Oregon man who filed a sex reproach lawsuit against the Boy Scouts has become an undesirable redolent of that an American origination based on trustworthiness has to account for past problems.
